Elf’s Tale (Ma No Mese)

AN ELF’S TALE WON THE SPECIAL PRIZE AT THE 2019 KALEIDOSCOPE FESTIVAL. THE NEW CIRCUS COMPANY FUSES CIRCUS TECHNIQUES WITH THEATRE, DANCE AND PUPPETRY. THE PRODUCTION RECEIVED CRITICAL ACCLAIM ON SEVERAL PROFESSIONAL ONLINE PLATFORMS.
„From the moment when a palm-sized ladybug quietly climbs up the log in the middle of the stage, until the dream-eating fairy (Ágnes Simor) disappears inside the same log, the children follow the path of a constructive, well-thought-out fairy tale, which builds on their imagination and their everyday experiences, and which provides plenty of opportunities for unbridled laughter, whispers of suspense and shouting out opinions. And the resolution is not an empty, obligatory happy ending, but a real, heart-felt guide that can be easily translated into their own life situations. (…) It is a performance mixing dream and wakefulness, fantasy and reality into a ductile mass, into which magic tricks, puppetry, acrobatic juggling and dancing scenes ease themselves with a reason and meaning, that is, they are an integral part of the story.” /szinhaz.net - ÁGNES MAUL: FAIRYTALE TRIALS/

Elves live everywhere: they appear out of shrubs or hide in attics, there are forest dwellers, field dwellers, apartment dwellers, there are water elves, drawer-, or pocket-elves, and sometimes they appear out of nowhere to join you. They are mischievous, they break and crush, they guard dreams, or brew brandy. They quarrel, they make up, they are restless and strange busybodies. To be honest, we’ve never seen a hysterical, grumpy, fibbing child, but we've pinched enough elves around children... And what do they do?... It's worth watching at least once! As usual, the Simorág DanCircus created its own story for this performance, which is strongly based on the innumerable elf and goblin tales they researched. The performance is based on poetic texts and its wry humour and unique story are recommended not only for the youngest, but for older children and adults as well!
