THE GRILLE

The grille

You arrive at the police station during an open day. You are greeted by a police assistant who shows you the tools used during the investigation. The chief detective is not here, but even in his absence, you can gain insight into an ongoing case.

Based on the investigator's sketches written on the wall, you can piece together what happened, who the suspect is, and related physical evidence and testimonies will also be found.

And there's even a cell.

The theme evokes segregated conditions in an average Hungarian village. The background work of sociologists from the UCCU Roma organization helped in the development. Our main partner is the Autonómia Foundation.

JÁNOS VITÉZ

János Vitéz

We are creating a theatrical form where the actor uses the environment as a theatrical set. The visual arts medium presents Petőfi's life, for which we invited a visual artist, Gábor Gregovszki, to our reworking theater session, who, with the support of the Petőfi Literary Museum, created wonderful, painted wooden panels for our plans.

The performance will also be available in the museum in the future, following its renovation as planned, but it will create a special theatrical experience when visiting schools and classrooms. During the session, the actor will create the text world of the performance from János the Brave.

"But wonder of wonders! what did he see, what did he see!"

He saw the flower turn into Iluska.

He rushed into the foam with frenzy,

And he freed the resurrected girl.”

The performance starts from here, as we involve the children in the world of the discovery of János the Brave by starting the story from the end and following it back along the encounters of the two main characters. As a literary topos, the rose - the symbol of lovers - carries the thread of the story. We explore with the children how a thread of this story can be followed along a symbol.
